ITB Berlin 2020 – Leading in Contacts, Content & Commerce

The ITB is the world’s leading trade fair for the global travel industry. It not only offers exciting innovations, but also many interesting business opportunities. Only here is the entire value chain of the tourism industry fully mapped. This year, the ITB Congress 2020 revolves around the core topics of digitization, changing customer demands, sustainability and luxury. This time the congress organizers chose “Smart Tourism for Future” as the slogan.

The following key figures show the large extent of the fair:

  • 10,000 exhibitors from over 180 countries
  • 5,000 journalists and over 500 travel bloggers
  • around 160,000 expected visitors
  • 400 top speakers and 350 sessions at the ITB Berlin Congress

The list of top speakers in the leading industry think tank is growing continuously. Big names and internationally renowned companies will provide information about the most important questions of the future as well as new developments and trends.

 

This year’s partner country: OMAN

This year Oman is the official partner country at the ITB in Berlin. The Sultanate of Oman combines breathtakingly beautiful nature with a smorgasbord of historical events and legends. As the oldest independent state in the Arab world, Oman was able to modernize its society while preserving the essential aspects of its culture and heritage. This makes this country the perfect travel destination for anyone looking for an authentic Arabia experience.

 

Corona virus panels

For the current occasion, the ITB Berlin Congress has expanded the comprehensive program to include the questions and effects of the corona virus on the global travel industry. On the first day, March 4, the experts in crisis management will take a closer look at the effects of the corona virus. Among other things, Dr. Caroline Brown, European Regional Program Director of the World Health Organization WHO, for questions and answers. In further lectures Dr. Eran Ketter, Researcher, Consultant & Crisis Management Advisor, and Esencan Terzibasoglu, Special Advisor to the Secretary General of the WTCF, on the background of the virus.
